We know you’ve all been wishing and hoping for us to be open on Sundays and while we aren’t quite ready just yet to staff up every Sunday, we have some amazing pop-ups heading your way through the cold months. We’re partnering with our friend Chef Emily Taylor to feature some fantastic Nordic foods. Think cozy loaves of bread, warm and hearty soups, and traditional sweet pastries, along with hot beverages and ice cold aquavit.
The pop-ups will run from 12pm - 6pm and are first come first serve, no reservations required. You can get your items to either enjoy in house or to go!
Dec 1: Iceland
Starting off Dec 1 with some traditional foods of Iceland. A hearty lamb and potato soup called Kjötsúpa, one of the staples of Icelandic cooking. This will be served with steamed geyser bread and butter, cardamom donuts and other cozy treats to warm your heart and soul.
Dec 15: Sweden
On Dec 15 we will feature foods from Sweden. A yellow split pea soup alongside a few open face sandwiches to keep you full while doing your holiday shopping. And Emily's Kardemummabullar (swedish cardamom buns) are NOT to be missed and will feature fresh ground Curio cardamom.
Urban Hearth Holiday Market
Speaking of holiday shopping, we will have a market set up alongside the Nordic popups with a variety of gifts and goods to sell including baked goods like our famous biscuits, bottled cocktails like our house nocino and gluhwein to toast to the holidays.
A little about Emily...
She fell in love with Nordic foods while backpacking solo across Scandinavia a few years back. Since then she’s been on a mission to recreate some of the tastes and feelings from those cozy northern locations. Normally she is a massage therapist, doula, coach and healer, so expect a lot of healing energy to work its way into your food!
So grab your friends, put on a wool sweater and come get cozy with Urban Hearth in December! And stay tuned for some future Nordic pop-up lunches in Jan and Feb too!
