HOST / STORYTELLER / SERVER / LIFE OF THE PARTY
There are a thousand restaurants in this city where you can wait tables, but very few where you can host a party every night. Urban Hearth, located in North Cambridge near Davis Square is one of those rare gems. We are hiring a part-time host/server to be the life of the party in our cozy 24 seat dining room.
This multifaceted position is part server, part host, part wine steward and bartender, part story-teller. From the moment you greet guests at the door, you are responsible for guiding their experience, making them feel like they are the guest of the hour at a chill supper party.
Required skills include:
easy manner, with the ability to anticipate what guests will desire and make them feel at home
experience with fine dining service practices
knowledge and interest in wine, beer and cocktails is key. Hosts must be able to retain a lot of information about wine and engage guests intelligibly on the subject. This position requires mixing and serving our curated cocktail menu.

Part-time hours - approximately 3-4 shifts per week including Friday and Saturday nights to start.
Urban Hearth, an intimate, farm-to-table restaurant in North Cambridge is hiring a porter/dishwasher. This key position on our team is responsible for:
● overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and cleaning of the kitchens and dining space
● light food prep as needed
● receiving, organization and storage of deliveries
● dishwashing during prep and service hours
In the beginning the position will be part time, 3-4 shifts per week.
As we ramp up to full dine-in service again, the position will become full-time, requiring five shifts a week, Tuesday - Saturday.
● Restaurant experience required
● Light maintenance experience preferred
● Conversational English
● Friendly demeanor, team-oriented, responsible and dependable
● Basic prep and food safety knowledge
● Ability to stay calm and organized in high-pressure environments
● Physical fitness and endurance: job requires climbing multiple flights of stairs, lifting and
carrying items over 50 lbs and long hours on your feet.

Wage is $14-16/hour
